They get credit for their performances on stage, in the studio, and on-screen, but there are some stars out there who deserve so much more. They’re the ones who, as well as learning the lines and the lyrics, know their way around an IQ test and have emerged with some seriously strong brain power.

Mayim Bialik and her IQ of 150

She played Amy, a smart cookie in The Big Bang Theory, but Mayim Bialik has the brain power to match in the real world, too. After starting her acting career in Blossom, Mayim plunged into the world of academia and came out of the other end with a PhD in neuroscience. She also learned four other languages from her mother tongue and wrote two books about science, too.

John Legend and his IQ of 135

As a winner of the Big Four - an Emmy, an Oscar, a Grammy and a Tony - John Legend knows what makes a good tune, but he also has a passion for African-American literature. He turned down the opportunity to attend Harvard, so he could pursue his love of books at the University of Pennsylvania instead. He gave an inspiring speech to the graduating class of 2014 at his former institution, delighting the audience.

Danica McKellar and her IQ of 154

It would be natural to assume that after her character Winnie broke Kevin’s heart in The Wonder Years, Danica McKellar faded into obscurity. She didn’t. She’s since made her name in mathematics instead. There’s a theorem that Danica worked on that is named after her and you’ll find several books about math that she authored in your local bookstore.
